Known as one of the English capital's most attractive suburbs, Harrow is located in northwest London and has a population of around 208,000. The borough boasts a fast-paced, lively business and commercial centre whilst having the peace and quiet of the countryside on its doorstep.

Along with excellent shopping facilities and sporting venues, Harrow also has a wealth of tourist attractions to keep visitors entertained throughout their stay.

The area's most famous landmark is Harrow School, where seven prime ministers including Sir Winston Churchill were educated. The school stands on top of Harrow on the Hill, close to the 900-year-old St Mary's Church, which is also worth a visit. The school's Old Speech Room Gallery is now home to an array of Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities, British paintings, and natural history.

You could also visit the Harrow Museum and Heritage Centre, which is based around a 16th Century barn, an 18th Century granary and a 14th Century manor house. Here you'll find a number of exhibitions along with the only surviving water filled moat in Middlesex.

For more history why not visit the Grimms Ditch, an ancient Saxon earthwork, which runs for three miles from Harrow Weld to Pinner Green, or the Bentley Priory in nearby Stanmore which dates back to the 1700s.

Art lovers will also enjoy a trip to the Harrow Arts Centre, which play host to local arts events and performances by visiting theatre companies and orchestras throughout the year.
